We have all been instructed about the importance of fitness in the military. Each military branch has a standard set forth for what kind of shape their members should be in. It is understandable since the military does not want out of shape people attempting to jobs created for in shape people. If we don’t follow the fitness standards, we are placed on a program. The old school terminology that I grew up with is the Fat Boy program and yes, I have spent some time on the program after eating too many sweets and not working out for a good balance. It is basically  a designated work out program that you have to follow until you reach the mandated weight and/or waist measurement. When many military members retire, the first thing they say is they are so happy they do not have to perform another fitness test (which includes your waist measurement). That in itself is a perk of retirement and I can’t wait to achieve it soon.
